Catching Up

Beautiful 2 year old Joshua (Eileen's grandson) having a nap at The House of Prayer.

My first attempt on my $8.00 knitting machine at making a dishcloth. I have been making dishcloths by hand from a pattern I got from http://down---to---earth.blogspot.com and then went to a garage sale at the quad centre in Shenton Park and picked up an Empisal KL 680 knitting machine in August 09. They have the garage sales every three months so in November Grandma (mother-in-law) and myself went again and I picked up a Singer with ribbing attachment for $10. I am hoping to be able to teach the girls that come to live at St. Pio's House of Hope (house for girls who are pregnant) some housekeeping skills and craft work.

All the ingredients used for soap making
Jackie and Norma came to our course in learning how to make soap and deodrant. This was then used for Christmas presents.  Below is the part completed new chook house built by James & Jo who live behind and is Eileen's daughter & son-in-law.

Yay! Good to see you're posting again. Well done on the knitting machines, it's quite addictive once you get started!
