Homesteading in the Suburbs
This week I received my 23 quart Presto pressure canner in the mail. One of my goals has been to give pressure canning a go. I have been preparing by watching a lot of You tube videos on canning.
Yesterday I canned beef stew. (picture bottom left) and today I canned potatoes which can be used for chips (bottom right), potato salad or mashed potatoes, pumpkin soup & chicken and vegetable soup (bottom middle).
My brother Bernard has been preparing for me a chook house that we picked up from market place. I bought two chooks for my grandchildren Max and Liberty. Max chose Faith for his chook's name and Liberty chose Lacey. This afternoon they arrived and are now settling into their home. I also want to buy a silkie chicken for Hosea and we have chosen the name of Henny for her.
