In Thanksgiving

In early February my friend Mary who is a enrolled nurse came from Wangaratta to help us at St. Pio's House of Hope.  St. Pio's House of Hope is a house for pregnant women who need help.  It has been such a blessing to have Mary to lighten the load and to be a companion on the journey.

Today  Mary and I took the ute for the first run to the tip.  We went to the second hand shop at the tip and we found a Breville Bakehouse for $5.00 (see pic below).

Mary has been wanting to bake a loaf of bread for a while now so I gave her the recipe for the bread I make. The bread rose so high it touched the roof of the bread maker.    Below is the recipe I use:-

 sachet of yeast (7g)
2 cups of plain flour
1 and 3/4 cup of light Rye bread mix (I buy light Rye bread mix from the Pantryman.)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon powdered milk
1 teaspoon salt
310 ml water

There is so much that can be made in the bread maker.  I also do my pizza dough and I have made jam and I have made tomato sauce also in the bread maker.  This week I hope to make Hot Cross buns.  We are also making lebanese bread tomorrow for our first meeting of Capture Cooking and Creativity.  You use the bread maker on the dough setting.  I will let you know tomorrow how it goes.

God Bless
Nanny P
